You can run sw-8 at lowest setting otherwise SW-4 should be okay
Can I quickly ask if an SOW-3 would be too much for a 5g? I was looking at these pumps and was about to post this question. It's 16"L x 6"D x 11"H. I heard these are super powerful pumps so if you're saying an SOW-4 is good for the OP's 30g then I think the 3 will be too much for my tank.

Any difference between the Reef Surge 8000 and the Jacob sow8 apart from the Jacob being £28 more expensive ?

Rebranded Jebao/Jecod?

Has anyone seen actual pump performance curves for Jebao?

Thanks for both of your replies. It saves me posting a separate question. So disappointing though. I was really hoping to get a pump that can be controlled and synced with two (or more) pumps like the Jebao. Controllable pico pumps are the next frontier (IMO). :) Good luck to the OP. Keep us posted on what you decide and how the Jebao works out if you decide to get it. :)

SLW IS ALSO ok but there has been field issues with units not magnetizing after cleaning or running in reverse (reverse polarity)
I've never heard of either issue, BUT I do know a few people are using them long term to stir kalkwasser slurry for dosing! This is the WORST situation for any magnetic powerhead to be in due to calcification buildup. So far after months to a year with zero maintenance they keep going.

Ive had mine for 3 years now with zero issues. Please attach a link to these reversed polarity and non sticking magnets. I would think they were flipping the middle magnet to cause that to occur.

The jebao listed ones for each is available on Google. But like all wavemakers, the listed numbers are the only ones available. I've yet to see anyone set up a test that can measure the real flow rate for any wavemaker. Seams almost impossible to accomplish.
