currently I have a Red Sea Nano AIO skimmer in my tank. Gets the job done. However, whenever my wife and I upgrade our tank we are going to have to get an actual skimmer. That is why I’m asking this question. What skimmers have you used before/currently are using. Are you satisfied with your skimmer, or do you wish you went with a different one.

I have a Tunze Comline 9004 on a 55 gallon with a 20 gallon sump. I'm happy with it. It fits in a small space. I don't have a lot of fish, so not a big bio-load.

I like cheap air driven ones. As I find them more zooplankton friendly.

Lifereef and I really like it. It does not require a certain water depth and can be driven by any pump that will drive enough water, I'm using a Mag 9.
On the more pricey side but with it!

I use the Red Sea Reefer DC 300... I like it, but my rationale behind buying it was that I was already deep in the Red Sea ecosystem (fleece roller, dosing pump, lights [before replacing with Radions]) and found their app to be marginally less terrible than some of the others.

In terms of performance, it does it's job. I like the drain on the cup, and while some people find the overskim and cup full sensors to be problematic I have yet to run into any issues with either.

Bashsea 8-24 skimmer its a bit overkill on my current tank but You hook it up and they just work no tweeking twerking, twisting, or other weird stuff.

Reef octos are pretty good too.

I've only ever ran SCA skimmers. The 301 model on my smaller tanks and the 302 model on my 220. Love the performance and even now Im running one on my new 65g build. Plus side is there are a Bubble Mag "knock off" as some would say but CHEAP. The 301 that's rated for up to a 65g tank is only $100 and the 302, rated for 180g tank is $200-250.
