JNS ConeS 3 is what I upgraded to from bubble magus. I'm actually very impressed with the coneS it pulled gunk from the moment I placed it in the sump and turned it on. It was this or a reef octo. Reef octo have a good rep, but I got the JNS on clearance for a stupidly cheap price so it was hard not to take the risk at the price I payed and my goodness I'm actually surprised how good they are!

The bubble magus was also a solid workhorse, but the problem they have is the manufacturer recommended water level is always too deep. I found they work way better when in shallow water and really pulled some gunk plus no overflowing either compared to deeper in the water

How is it modified?
Pardon the mess, I need to do some maintenance. I modified the air intake from the collar, use a CO2 scrubber on the intake that is T'd off for O3 input, have a skimmate container modified with a float switch wired into Apex for auto shutoff to prevent overflow, and a custom made cap, courtesy of @Projects with Sam as a carbon post scrubber for eliminating odor and excess ozone.

Reef Octo 5000int for the last 8 years.
Picked it up on Reef Central for 1/2 price because the inlet was broken off the body. A like acrylic glue and it was golden.

Fluval PS2 for my 200lt softies tank and its on a timer from 10pm to 10am only. Nitrate is 5, Phosphate is 0.25 ( a little high I know but the tank is happy ). I dont have a sump so it had to be something small that fits on the back wall. Great little item. Been in the tank for about 5 years now.
