2010 model reef octopus nwb150.
Replaced the pump last year with the upgrade Aquatrance pump after the OTC pump went out. Six years on the same pump was awesome. I did upgrade the adjustment tube to the gate valve, makes fine tuning much easier. Been flawless all these years.

I've had a vertex Omega 130 for about 4 years now. One of my best reefing purchases. The sicce pump still works like day one. People say it's a finicky skimmer and I might agree to a certain point but once it's set you never have to touch it again.

Skimz SN123 I believe. I would give it 3.5 out of 5 stars. It releases way too many micro bubbles no matter what you do and taking the cup off is a serious chore. I will break something one day trying to get that stupid cup on and off. The o ring design is just plain dumb IMO.

It is quiet and pulls a ton of stuff though. Parts are also easily found at BRS if needed.
I felt I was bound to bust something eventually taking my cup off so I rub a dab of cooking oil with my finger around the ring. Worked great.

Bubble King 300 EXT, bought in 2006. Never have to adjust it. In 11 years I had to replace the impeller two years ago. I clean the pump every 12 months. It was very expensive back in 2006, but was in a class of its own. It still performs great and is very quiet.

Nice dry foam..I clean it every three weeks...

Ultra Reef Akula 160 Protein skimmer, anyone that knows me knows I have tried allot of skimmers...
The Ultra reef skimmers are amazing. One of the few skimmers that actually can handle close to what they are rated for.
They also are very well made, almost as good as bubble king.
Super stable and very easy to set up and use.

I guess I am a glutton for punishment! Actually, I love the challenge and the constant learning that this hobby entails.

If it works why change, BK makes good skimmers that lasts.
That is what people do not get about them.

Bubble King Double Cone 180 on one tank and a Reef Octopus Elite 150int on another. Both are dead quiet and pull all kinds of crud out.

I had a Reef Octopus Classic 225int on my biocube, but it wasn't working consistently so I replaced it with a Aquamaxx ConeS CO-1 skimmer. It works great, is practically silent and pulls thick gunk from my tank. [32G w/ 20G sump, 2 clowns - 1 lawnmower blenny - 1 Coral Beauty - 1 Green Mandarin - tuxedo urchin, refugium with chaeto and H380]

Hydor performer 505, and it is the worst one I have owned. In 3 years of owning it I have never gotten reliable skimmate out of it. It has to be nearly overflowing to produce anything.
