I got an encrusting monti frag a few days ago. I dropped it and for whatever reason instead of making a second frag of the broken part I glued it back together because of my OCD lol. Anyways, it has been absolutely fine so far. All of the polyps have opened and I haven't seen any cause for concern... until tonight. I shone my flashlight in my tank while the lights were off and saw this weird white fuzzy stuff all along where glued the monti back together. I checked on it every single night so far and this is the first time I've seen this. What the heck am I looking at?!

It could be bacterial infection. I would do an iodine dip to be safe.
Good idea. I’ll do that ASAP.

Are there any corals near by? Looks like it’s been stung to me.
No its On its own island. It would be impossible for another coral to sting it right now.

Update: I checked this morning and the fuzzy stuff was gone but there was a bit of slime attached to the same area until the flow blew it off. Looks normal again. I have not dipped it yet.
