Gulf Live Rock...No issues, completely satisfied! I would never consider using anything else unless I had to. Pic is from LR in QT after I received it last year. I’ve used LR purchased at LFS on previous tanks and they didn’t run as smooth. Last pic is from a previous tank.

I plan to cycle with Brightwell XLM - I'll check with my local expert - a Brightwell guru - about the Neophos. Thanks!
I would suggest FritzZyme TurboStart 900 or Bio-Spira over Brightwell XLM.

I have personal really good personal experience with Fritz, and a lot of people report Fritz and Bio-Spira works really well.

Brightwell XLM, Microbacter7, Dr. Tim's One and Only all should work, but recently I have seen more threads about them not working. Not saying they are bad products or has never worked before, but just cautionary tales that I figure should pass on. I figure they all cost a similar amount anyways, so if recently people have more success with certain products than others, why not use those more successful ones.

I have a mix of true Fiji and Tonga (Branch and table). But my live rock is what’s left of my original rock from when I started in 2004(only about 5-10lbs left) (dang I feel old)

I used dry rock. The advantages are no pests in the tank but the disadvantages it takes a long time to get enough biodiversity on the rock surface to prevent dino’s and cyano….. outbreaks. I would do the same thing over again but would seed it with some coral gravel from a trusted source as well as adding copepods early on.

What's the prevailing opinion on seeding dry rock with some ocean-aquacultured live rock? Too risky for hitchhikers?
