Awesome! Thanks. I will reconsider getting a unit. I thought I read it's not good as a permanent source of water for plants so this is great news. Downside... More money needed for hardware. LOL I thought I was finally past that phase. Haha.

I don't think a reefer ever gets past that stage.

NSW that I collect in buckets from a jetty nearby. I've wanted to do this forever, but I've never had a tank small enough to make it practical. Buy with my EVO, it's been a breeze. I don't treat it at all beyond running it quickly through some filter floss to remove big stuff like chunks of seaweed and the occasional critter. Weekly water changes double as feeding for the coral (the polyp extension is crazy) and triggers a feeding response in my fish and CUC as well (all the nassarius snails emerge from the depths). If I could feasibly do this in a larger tank, I would do it in a heartbeat.

I'm approaching a year with this tank, and the NSW has exceeded expectations.

I use RODI for top offs.
