I agree about diversity. Margaritas and conchs have worked best for me against hair algae. Conchs get the rock area at the sand base really well.

A better question is, "Why are there no snails available now?" I know there are some, but no Trochus or Turbo snails. If any of you know of a source let me know. Or, perhaps you know of a snail just as good or better that are available.

To me, trochus snails might be the best all around snail. They can right themselves much easier than many snails. I've also had them spawn several times in one of my tanks. I haven't had to buy any for years for that tank.

I just picked up more from reefcleaners.

It was an unknown snail laying the eggs. I saw the culprit a few days later, but I didn't snag a pic of it. It was on the magnetic scraper again, but it fell off when I was cleaning. It's not one that I intentionally added, so it must have come in by a lobo I added recently.

On a separate note, my clowns did lay eggs! On the rocks though next to their hammer coral. I can't take the rock out since I don't have another tank for it, but I may have to set up another tank so I can try to hatch them next time.
