What would be a good small tank for a pair of clowns

I wouldn't do less than a 32 biocube.

Twenty gallons would be the minimum for me for smaller clown varieties, 30 would be optimal though. Clowns like Maroons need larger systems.

W/ a nem I'd say 30g just so there's room to grow and still keep away from pumps/intakes, as well as clowns do better w/ some space.

20g would be bare min for just clowns, and agree something like maroons that may be a little tight

I've got a pair in my Fluval EVO 13.5 gallon tank. When I had my mature pair in my 32 G Biocube, they used very little of the tank.

If you stick with the smaller variants, i'd feel comfortable with 15 gallons or so. If they outgrow the tank however, you might need to be okay with trading them in for a smaller pair
