Cant get a good picture because it's so small but when lights goes off it has a long piece sticking out

Looks to be a group of tunicates which are filter feeders and reef safe

Also if you can photo when you see something out (just turn the lights on and shot immediately), or try to take a photo with the flash light. Video can be useful for ID what else is there.
