:( No but I can, I think I'll just leave it be for now as taking it out might stress it further, I will know in next couple of days if it does start deteriorating :( thanks though not heard about smell before

Mushrooms are usually pretty good at repairing and healing injuries if they are caught early, with one exception which appears to have happened in this case. The exception is damage to the mouth or foot. It appears the peppermint ate some/ damaged the mouth of the mushroom and this is almost always a death sentence.

I think your right, it does look like mouth has been eaten', the hole is very much near the center :(

Those are very nice ones. Take a look at some ricordia floridas. They are very reasonable and hardy. Tolerate basically any lighting and dirty water, and they come in some great colors.

Careful with two dragonets in a tank that size, they gobble up pods like mad.

"Peppermint shrimp" refers to about a dozen shrimp species in the same genus, all varying degrees of not-reef-safe. The most reef-safe of them eat aiptasia, and aiptasia are, after all, the sorts of animals you find in reefs. It's made worse if they aren't getting enough food.
Thanks for advice, both mandarin and drogonet are vip's in my aquarium:)

thanks.. proberbly not for a day or two now it's had mushroom steak lol
best way to catch it? I can't remove rocks and it hides in a kinda underside cave
Rub some food on your fingers and put your hand by the cave. You may be able to get one to come out onto your hand to clean it.

These photos are from today, I think there is still hope for little shroom :)

I'm unsure how mushrooms regenerate (In regards to previous pics) what once was a hole weds after being eaten appears better however.. it looks like a tiny anemone, or is this like the bubbly outer skirt/skin of mushroom?

It appears to have alot more colour showing compared to previous (weds pictures

Unfortunately my camera will only focus on the stuff I don't need it to but tried my best

Thank you, yes food did the trick to entice out, we only added minimal close by and netted quite easily, the damsel was abit harder to catch but due to its own attitude of trying to attack everything it was caught as well,

It’s definitely trying to make a come back!!! Very lucky break, usually mouth damage is no bueno, but it’s definitely closed over where the hole was!!
