This week we are going to dive into some lighting topics and there's no better way to kick it off than to see what lighting everyone is currently using! We also need an answer to the second question as well please! So let's talk about it!

1. What light(s) are you currently using to light your reef tank?

2. What types of corals are you keeping in your tank?

2 xr15-G5s over my main display and a reefbreeders photon over my frag/growout tank. Both tanks sit just over 500 par at the peak of the schedule. Sps dominant systems. I love both of these light set ups and am planning on going with more reefbreeders for a future upgrade.

Main tank is just under 40 gal with 2 xr15-G5s

1x hydra 32hd with reefbrite brite hko kit. once i upgrade to my 75g, i’ll have 2x hydra 32 with 2x reef brite hko kit.

currently only some wheat please/satisfied with my light as it does grow corals but i feel like it doesn’t put out as much PAR as i want. hopefully having two for my 75 works out much better than the 1 for my 40b

I'm using Current USA's Orbit R24 light on my 24 gallon cube. My corals look beautiful and they seem to be thriving so I'm happy! Haven't measured PAR yet but from my understanding, it can produce the advertised 100 par at 20" depth. I don't think anything I have is too PAR-heavy and I plan to keep it that way.

MH and T5 over my newest tank (still building it) and a Redsea 50 over my 20 cube. Both are great, but I didn't realize how amazing MH and T5 really is until I measured my PAR. I have to move my light farther away from the tank as I have 400 PAR on my sandbed on a 24" depth.
