What's going on with my branching cyphastrea?

It looks like it has a ridge of spionid worms (coral boring?) on the bottom, and some of the tips are brown with some algae-like strings.

I am wondering if I should chop this guy up and start over. Maybe throw the spionid-infested part and keep the top parts (blue line cut) and chop off the brown tips (red X's):

Not sure what's best thing to do here. I'd prefer not seeing these worms show up on other corals, if they aren't there already.

idk but i love the little blenny peeking out :star-struck:
I didn't notice that. He's a kook. Probably wondering what I'm doing with the top off, flow off and camera in hand (usually top off/flow stopped means I'm about to target feed).

:grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:so cute! i tried a tailspot but he disappeared the first day. i wonder if my dusky jawfish ate it:crying-face: he ate all my neon gobys. anyways would love to have one! but this isnt answering your coral question!:oops:
