Hi

I just bought a second hand 6mth old tank set-up with some live rock. It has something growing on the rock that looks cool, as I am a newbie I wanted to ask u guys what u thought it was.

I am not sure how much light it had in the previous owners tank but in my set up it doesn't get much light. It is about 10 mm across.

Picture attached.

Looks like a funghia skeleton

Definitely don't throw it away, still might sprout babies, maybe carefully try to get it out of there and into the light of it's not grown attached there and is just wedged in there, probably a little too shaded for it

Yep, keep it; miracles do happen in this hobby and it might still contain life

Thanks for the advice.
The live rock spent 4hrs out of water in a bucket on the trip from the previous owner so hope that didn't cause any problems. It was the first day of spring but fortunately was 20 degrees Celsius that night so not 5 C like a few days before.
The water I carried to my house from the previous owner was pH 7.2 when I tested it. I have slowly got it up to 8.0 so far.
