Hi

I'd like to see if anyone can ID these things on my glass. The first pic is the glass just after the lights have come on and as you can see whatever it is there are loads of them. At first I thought it was sand but then I noticed they were moving.

The second pic is a close up with a macro lens on my S8 and the link is to a video with the macro lens. Not the greatest quality but I hope they are good enough to get an ID. If you get a fright when the snail appears towards the end it won't be nearly as big of a fright as I got when it appeared haha!

They don't look like any copepods of amphipods I've seen. It's almost like they have a shell with small tentacles underneath?

Thanks!

Looks like Limpets to me, although these appear smaller and seem to move more quickly.

You can see them better in the video. They're for sure copepods. People also refer to amphipods colloquially as "copepods" too, but those are the flea looking critters that you usually see in the sand bed and on the rocks...

Are the even small little white specs under them alive? I have things like that on my glass. Super super small white dots that zip around.

I really don't think they are copepods. I have loads of pods in the tank for my mandarins and these dont look the same. They only appeared in the last week or so too.

I now have a tank full of Baby Trochus snails! Lots of them everywhere! Could these white dots have been very small Trochus snail babies?
