Best gadget I ever bought was the algae free magnet scraper. It works well, but the included scraper takes multiple passes to clean properly.

Then I bought this razor blade attachment. Fantastic. Cleans coralline in one pass. After 20+ years of reaching in my tank with a straight razor, I actually don’t mind cleaning my glass. And I usually have coralline growing on my front glass within 2 weeks.

I built this to help hold the test tube while I tested everything and flip the test tubes over and they dry on the wood dowels. I also love my dripper I got tired of bending the tube on the store ones.

You know, that little aquarium widget that saved your life and you wish someone had told you about ten years ago.

Mine?

I used to dread changing out my RODI filter cartridges until this baby entered my life!

Game changer.

Like Ryan would say, Right tool. Right job.

Hands down a disposable 10 mL syringe. Use for sucking out flatworms, sucking out bristle worms (it really works!), target feeding reefroids, measuring vibrant, sucking aiptasia to death (very relaxing), and dosing regale supplements like alk, phos, and Calc. Second would be my icecap phone lens so I can actually take pics of my tank!! Beautiful photos with it
It's funny, it took me few years in the hobby to figure how useful a syringe could be. So simple, so useful.

I know it sounds crazy but UV lights freak me out.

It's that old reefer quote that the goal of reefing is to bring as much electricity as you possibly can as close as you possibly can to a tank of saltwater.

I just look at that quartz tube every time I open the unit to clean the tube and think, man, that thing seems so delicate ,If it cracks...wow, that would be bad.

Now, I have an AQUA UV sitting on the shelf.

Dowels and towels are every reefers friend.

Call me crazy but I always keep a few chopsticks around.
1. Super cheap (usually free)
2. Super useful.

I use them to mix frozen food while it's defrosting. They are great poking tool to clean my skimmer intake tube on the venturi which seems to get clogged every few months. They can similarly helpful when cleaning pumps. I also use them to clean the grates of my overflow which cakes up with coraline.

They're just generally good for poking and prodding.

Not the best but it’s a nice budget dosing reservoir!
walked into a shop for some tea and seen these, 20.00 even each. I was about to buy 2 more aquamaxxx containers. I plan to top the Boba hole (massive straw hole) with plastic or a corkscrew and drill a hole through that for CA/dkh line.
