New to corals having started converting my Fowler a year ago. Got this acan from LFS with only 2 heads. The fact it has grown makes it my favorite. Sorry for poor quality phone pic. Really bright neon greens and two shades of purple blue center ring.

My favorite is my “margarita hammer”... I’ve had it going on 3 years now. It’s been a joy watching it grow! It’s crazy how you get attached to corals. Like a family pet!!

Nice Hammer, but I really like the overall photo too.
What photo technique did you use to get the Glow's under blue light to come out like that.
I've tried Manual white Balance and all kind of ways, and never can take phosphorescent glow photos.
Did you use a filter? And what light setting?

Nothing fancy!! I used my iPhone 7 with Polyplabs clip on lens. Used the 15,000k and 20,000k lens combined, stacked/screwed together. Didn’t mess with white balance. Just used the normal camera settings. Used a chair the same height as middle of tank to stabilize phone. No tripod on hand. Haha. I was trying to get a pic that closely resembled what I was seeing. That’s actually what the tank looks like at night. Actually looks better in person to be honest. And without a filter I couldn’t make that happen on my camera. Return pump is turned off also. No shimmer. I used the tap feature on the phone also to dim things down a bit. The one that looks like a sun when you tap the picture. Can’t remember the technical name of it off hand. Lights are Photon V2’s.. This was a late night shot when the lights were ramping down. Running channels 3,5,6 at 15%... Channel 1 at 4%. Channel 2 at 3%. When the pic was taken. Here’s a run down of the channels.

My favorite corals are ricordea Florida, one of the first ones I ever bought was a sort of dull highlighter yellow I never seen before or since. It along with all my other ricordea I had at the time were eaten one by one by a big white crab. Took me a while to figure out what was happening. The crab was living in a hole in the rock, he came out after lights out and would drag frags back to his lair to devour them.

I absolutely love Ricordea Florida!!! Some of my faves. Hard to beat for their iridescent glow!! Easy to take care of! Just an all around awesome Corallimorph!!

This was my favourite.

Got it back in 2000 and at the time corals like this were unheard of in the UK.
I got out of reefing for a few years in 2005 and it went with the tank.

If you can find one Please shoot me a pm because I’m defiantly interested

Not sure if this is what the coral is but it looks like one I’ve had my eye on. If you look at the picture of the big tank below you can see how yellow it is.

such a great thread idea. I am new so hearing about and seeing examples of great corals helps to direct my ambitions to great ideas for my tanks. I have my original corals but don't have a favorite yet,

I couldn't find a macro picture of this one, but I love the color on this hammer coral.
