Please share. Whats is the one item you bought for your reef that was a game changer in one way or another? For me I have to say

my Hanna Alk Checker is the best thing I have bought for the reef. It has allowed me to dial in and keep alk stable. A total game changer in keeping my corals happy. A very close 2nd is my pair of AI Hydra 32HDs. Switching to quality LED lighting from 250w MH pendants really made my corals color up. I was never able to get good color in my sps with MH lighting. Even though I have been using MH for a long time.

This .... MTC ProCal calcium reactor bought around 1997 and finally retired last year. CaRx body lasted 23 years (and is still seaworthy) but the pump got repalced about every decade or so.

I'd have to say my light has made the biggest impact on my tank and coral growth, an Orphek Atlantic Compact V4 for my 60g cube. I bought it over a year ago and still love tweaking the light timing and spectrum settings/ cloud cover mode, my sps seem to love it as well. It cost a bit but definitely a worthy purchase imo.

Hopefully this t5 hybrid setup I'm about to install next week lol as of now probably the apex even though I use it for basic functions . I never had one until 2 years ago , then all I could think of wow that was silly to go that long without one

Ato for sure, no more constantly checking water line and filling manually.
Totally Agree.
I couldn't live without ATO's.

I have 3 tanks, and sometimes I run a QT.
Each has an ATO (2 Tunze's and 2 DIY).

Having Water Levels drop can cause so many problems. (Salinity Changes (which can affect other parameters), Medication Levels, Burned out pumps while on vacation, etc, etc)

And when doing manual Water Top up, it can be messy and prone to accidents.
