Oh my gosh,, for me,, we're talking 2007.... but I'm pretty sure it was Yellow Polyps

For some reason everyone thinks they're invasive and ugly and only one step above Aiptasia.... but I always thought they were pretty cool and add color to your tank.

You never see these for sale anymore

Reclassify them as a zoa and give them a cool marketing name like Yellow Jacket Stingers and they'd probably sell for $15/polyp. Lol

Totally forgot about yellow polyps! Blast from the past. Come to think of it, you’re right, I never see it for sale anywhere.

I think my first was a tiny frag of devil's hand leather. I was like 13 (1996?) Anyway, it was brown but it was healthy and grew reasonably quickly since I had THREE normal output fluorescent tubes lighting the tank!
Omg.... im totally trippin ... do you remember Compact Fluorescents? I think that was my first light. One white, one blue CF bulb

Oh heck yes. I did normal output fl, power compacts, vho fl, then iwaki (?) Halide which was like 6500k, then ushio 10k, then radium 20k, then a kessil /AI LEDs. It cracks me up to see everyone complaining about blue LED tanks. 15 years ago everyone was bellyaching about radium bulbs making the tank look like it was full of Windex. Nothing really changes. Out of all of those lights I do think radiums are at the top of my list...but I did get slightly faster sps growth with 10k+vho actinic.
