In order:

"Is this saltwater"
"are those corals?"
"Does the light make the fish so colorful" (referring to my azure damsels and orchid dotty)
"Wow you have a lot shrimp" (all my home caught white gloves that mission all over the tank)

In this order:

1: the gsp covered stone in the front
2: my huge-butt urchin
3: the funghia's

The stuff that is really special to me is usually left unregarded unless I start talking about it.
Otherwise people probably leave thinking why I bought all those ugly toxic-brightly colored ceramic decoration items

As for our friends, they love the Orange Sunburst Coral

My buddy, who has only salt water fish likes how I mounted Marco Rock shards to the back glass wall, giving the tank depth of field

It depends, the 3 people I know that used to keep tanks notice the growth of larger SPS colonies, the rest say look it's Dory, I tell them that's a boy, his name is Buhdi, don't relay know just not an Ellen Degeneres fan. Loved blue tangs before the Disney movies came out.

Most people stop halfway across the room and go "woah" when they notice the RBTA the size of their head.

Them: "What do you feed that thing!?"
Me: "Anything it wants."

My Clownfish pair in the RBT Anemone. Second they notice the Corals, but for some reason a lot of them think this is an artificial decoration.;Bored

it is amazing how many marine biologists i work with, who are pioneers in their field, know 0 about reefs because they are studying things on the complete other side of the globe
