What's the most expensive fish you've ever bought?

A pair of fancy ocellaris clowns at $160, who then died to the clown killer tank, then a second try with a long finned clown that came in alone at $100. It also was claimed. Now I keep a happy yellow tail blue damsel that's lived longer than any of the six clowns I tried, a steal at $8.

Gem Tang for $500 from a friend who had it for 4 years before selling it to me - amazing fish. Bought 2 x Yellow tangs 4.5 years ago for $80 each - seems like a lifetime ago LOL

Copperband Butterfly for 500 from Marine Collectors pre-quarantined and conditioned to mysis shrimp. No one local had any that would actually eat and I just love the look of these guys. He's been the boss of the tank from day 1. He also keeps the yellow and purple tangs in line. Might have also decimated my acans but it was worth the price. 10/10 will use @Marine Collectors again for fish that have a hard time adjusting to tank life!

I rented a naso tang for 150, a whole week. He was practicing for the Olympics and jumping off the tank. He won!

Since it’s on the list of most expensive fish someone purchased I’d assume it’s a zebra tang, which looks kinda similar to the convict tang but costs a lot more.

$80? Wow! When I lived in FL they were 1,000.

The Gem is about 5 or 6 inches and super healthy. By far my favorite fish. Plays well with others, even during the the scrimmage for nori. Tangs are also doing well still. So glad i got them when i did as I don't think the captive bred Biota's are nearly as nice

Its hard to remember but probably my Watanabei angel pair. I think I paid $600.00 for them. Although I did buy a tank break down the entire thing because I wanted the blue throat trigger pair and they wouldnt separate it out $1100.00, came with a bunch of leathers I didnt want and the 120g tank and equipment.
