I refuse to pay more than $350 for a fish after tax and shipping. Just on principle. I have fish probably worth $400 but I would never pay that. I probably have 7-10 fish "worth" 200-350 but I just cannot get past it in my head to spend more on a single fish no matter how much cash flow I have.

@jeremy @ReefBuzz @renato120 you guys that have/have had the black tangs, gimme the lowdown on em(care, attitude, tank size etc).
been on my list for years, and hoping to add one to the 120DT restart.
I have mine in a 40b for about a year. Getting ready to put him in a 120. He is pretty small about 2 inches or so. Mild tempermant, good eater, eats all types of frozen food and pellets.

I had mine in a 90 for a little bit, then I moved and sold everything off.

Wasn't overly aggressive. Ate well. The one I had was only about 3 inches.

My budget doesn't allow for many fish over $50, but I did spend $90 on the sunburst anthias in my avatar. I'm not sure I could/would go over $100 for any fish appropriately sized for my tanks (the largest is a 72g). Larger fish for a dream tank down the road, perhaps.

Mine would have to be a Katoi wrasse pair and Golden Rhomboid wrasse

@rlman41299 - How did you get ahold of a Feminus? That wrasse is gorgeous!

Sup Colin, judging from those Katoi. Most likely you got them at the same place I got the feminus in Hayward.

How are the sunburst as far as temperment and compatibility? I purchased three from a LFS a couple months ago but they didn't make it out of QT:(

Goldflake angel, about half retail price as he came from another hobbyist. 15 years in the hobby, my only other $100+ fish is a harlequin tusk, both purchased in the last 3 years.

Sorry to hear that. I no longer have mine (found him dead behind a rock one day with no obvious issues, other than a bit of lympho, so not sure what happened), but while I did, he minded his own business and ignored the other fish while casually swimming around. He was in a tank with smaller, more passive fish, like firefish and tiny gobies, so my experience may differ greatly from a tank where the sunburst is not the largest. He was my prettiest fish, without a doubt, and I do plan to get another when the budget allows.
