Male Venustus…. Peaceful….Proceed with caution. Depends on the tank mates and tank size. They are usually less aggressive than most larger Haps like Fuscos but can be terrors just like any larger cichlid.

In my neck of the woods my LFS would prob have about $40-60 on him if he’s in good shape. Problem with these haps getting really big and old is they start having physical issues and aren’t as “pretty” as a nice sub adult. How’s his shape and fins? Any eye issues?

How much is he worth? Considering hes almost 10"
Totally depends on local market, and what fish it is, and how nice it looks, and if you are selling it from your fish store or on craigslist or whatever.

Venusustus and the livingston's and polystigmas used to be about 10-15 bucks for small ones, but I haven't looked in a decade or more.
I have a colony of Blue Frontosa, my males are all about 14"
Frontosas used to be worth big bucks. Awesome fish too. Do you keep anything with them?

There are some S. Lucipinnis in there with them. I also had some N. Leleupi at one point but they became food

My Fronts are Kitumba variant (C. Gibberosa)

Here’s one for you 10” c. Moorii
Lots of these haps can easily get that big. Champsochromis, tyrranochromis, aristochromis.
The sad thing is most don’t live long enough to reach these adult sizes.

I like those cats, well I like all synodontis. Never had heard of those cichlids.
