I'm in the 1-2 year range because the first SW purchase i made was on 8/13/2019; a sicce return pump that has run constantly since 9/4/2019

I have 2 MJ 1200 that I use for mixing and transfer duties that are the old school ones from the 90s. I had a hagan 201 power head from 94 that I finally dropped and broke last year. :( I bought it at an LFS in Birmingham, Al. that hasn't been in business for over 20 years now.

I also have a jebao 12000 that the controller and power supply are under a rock next to my pond. It has been running since 2016 on the pond and was on a 210 gallon tank for two years before that. I have never taken it apart to clean it.

I just realized Thursday was this pond's 5th Birthday!

I have a Mag and wet/dry i've been using since the early 2000's... maybe late 90's. IDK... people bag on wet/dry's but I struggle to get nitrates to detectable levels.

- Original Reef Keeper (blue) bought when they came out in 05 or so, back when Neptune was in full price gouging mode.
- Tunze 6100's (pair) from same time period, though the power supplies shave been replaced.

Mostly everything on my tank is new except for a 15 year old glass thermometer, a nearly 20 year older digital thermometer (its way off, but it has an alarm that’s way louder than my inkbird, so I just set it according to my other thermometers). Also have some live rock that’s probably 20 years old, was in several tanks for around 10 years and then sat in a tote in my garage for around 10 years. Other than those things, everything else is new. Oh, I also have several tools/accessories/equipment that is older than 10 years, but don’t know if that counts.

My light fixture on my 20L is a current marine t5 extreme that I bought around 2004 or 2005.

My Reef Octo NWS-150 recirculating skimmer still runs 24/7. I bought it in the mid 2000's... I'm thinking 2006 or so. I've replaced the recirculation pump once and fixed a crack in the cup. It is still a beast and probably overkill for my ~100 gallon reef.

I have a very old current USA t5 light I have been using since 2011. And it was given to me by a reefing friend that had used it for a few years before me. I am supplementing it with a reefbrite now but it has never failed me.

I've had to replace almost everything when I setup my 350 from my 220 gallon tank. I kept heaters, skimmer, MP40s, battery backup for the MP 40s, I had the hole shabang all in cold store for 3 years. They had only run on my 220 for 2-3 years.

I've replaced everything now except my skimmer and my 75 gallon sump tank.

Heaters went bad in the first 6 months of use on the new tank, killing 16 fish. I hosed the External return pump cleaning it, caused the bearing to fuse onto the shaft.. Was a total loss. My MP 40s both stopped working within 1 year of use on the new tank. . .

I've had two Skimz S18 powerheads stop working within 2 years of use. My old LEd Lights, the company that made them went out of business and the boards died one at a time. . .

So, the only thing I haven't replaced now is my Reef Octopus skimmer with DC pump. And in some ways I want it to die, because I want to replace it with a life Reefz skimmer and non DC pump.

I'm irritated at how much equipment I've replaced. I guess it bought me time to replace them over time. . .

My 75 gallon sump still holds water and I had bought it used, so it may be well over 10 years old. Probably longer. :)

Some of my powrheads are probably from the 80s and my diatom filters are from the 60s.

My reverse undergravel ran for 40 years before I moved and needed a larger one and I don't remember when I built my skimmer, but it was decades ago.

On my current tank I don’t have anything over about 2 years. I did have an Eheim 1262 that was in use for about 15 years almost continuously through various tanks that I was using on this tank, but late last year I replaced it with a Sicce DC pump because the impeller finally started swelling and it got far too loud. Still works though and I do use it in utility situations.

I think what finally did it in was during hurricane Florence in 2018 the crawl space in my old house started flooding and I actually grabbed the eheim from the tank and used it to pump water out from under the house. It didn’t skip a beat, but the impeller got scratched up. :D
