Longevity of reefing equipment is a good thing of course and we should celebrate those pumps, lights and gear that has stood the test of salty time! So let's do it today and talk about the aquarium equipment that keeps on keeping on!

What's the OLDEST piece of equipment you have running on your tank and how old is it?

still have an old eheim pump from a previous system 9 years ago, that I now use for reactors. cleaned it 3-4 time since buying it

I got back into aquariums a couple years ago, so all my equipment is fairly new. I do still have the very first tank stand I built back in 1976!

I have a Rio return pump I bought in 2000 that is still running on my current tank. I also have an Ehiem heater I bought in 2005 that has been in my mixing container for the last 10 years (it was only on the tank for two years and then sat in a bin 4 years).

Well its not running on my tank but I use it to make new saltwater. Its a 20+ year old MJ1200. Never replaced the impeller or anything other than rinse it out. It is getting ready to go into a tub to start cycling some dryrock for a new build in the coming months.

JBJ auto topoff purchased december 2012. Still running today. Never had a failure. Cleaned float switches maybe 2-3 times during that entire span.

My reverse undergravel ran for 40 years before I moved and needed a larger one and I don't remember when I built my skimmer, but it was decades ago.

Everything I have is old! I have two MP40's from 2005 (Dry side only....wetsides have been replaced). I'm also a ReefKeeper 2 user and purchased two used around 2008 or so, and don't know how old they are.
