On my pico, oldest piece is a stealth heater (I forget the brand) going on 17 years old. Got it in 2004

Not running on my tank but my D-D aquarium solution refractometer...it has been with me for over a decade, still as good as day one and never once required a recalibration in all that time, you get what you pay for unlike these cheap Amazon and Ebay junk ones

I know what you mean. I have a cheap Amazon one. Its accurate and easy to calibrate, but the "ATC" is for automatic temperature correction, which is a lie on the one I have as it needs calibrated whenever the ambient temperature changes.

Just upgraded my 120 gal. AGA tank from 1994 this year (although I did have to reseal it once). Also still rocking my Tuboflotor 1000 from 2000 on my softie tank. Have an Iwaki from 2000 too but it’s been relegated to backup duty.
Also use a Penguin 550 power head as a utility pump from ???? Don’t even know…thing might have shown up like Annabelle…

I have a 10 year old Aqua-C Skimmer ev-240 still running, about to replace it with a Lifereef skimmer. Aslo have a reef devil skimmer on my Grow out tank. A 15 year old Dolphin 3000/4000 pump still kicking. Just replacing the seals

I bought my tank used back in 1990. Built the stand for it the same year (being a custom cabinetmaker has its advantages)

The next oldest piece is my Rena Filstar 3x canister filter. I got that in 2008 or so..

I have two hand me down aqueon heaters and a koralia 240 probably 8-ish years old at this point, but I only use these for mixing salt.

My oldest piece of continuous use equipment is a 6 year old ReefBreeders Photon 24 v1. Still trucking along over my 40 now.

I also had my day one Aquaclear 70 hit 6 years before I finally replaced it with a new one. Still worked fine, despite being packed with vermetids and missing an impeller fin. Sure, flow wasn't 100 with the missing fin, but it was the vermetid horror show that made me trash it.

That nickel covered brass temperature gauge to the left of the top of my "very cool" skimmer I took from the Plaza Hotel when I renovated the place. It is from 1907. So about 114 years or so. Give or take.

But I wasn't quite there then. It is still on my tank.

Longevity of reefing equipment is a good thing of course and we should celebrate those pumps, lights and gear that has stood the test of salty time! So let's do it today and talk about the aquarium equipment that keeps on keeping on!

What's the OLDEST piece of equipment you have running on your tank and how old is it?

My tank is only about 18 months old, do nothing has had to stand the test of time yet. I was encouraged to see a few posts regarding the longevity of Ecotech stuff. I have two MP10 and one MP40 and if they made it a decade that would be fantastic!

One of my Eheim 1262’s is over 40 years old and going strong. I’ve replaced the impeller a couple times and clean it about once a year.

I bought my 50 gallon tank and stand from a shop that was closing in 1979. The wet dry and return pump on it are about 20 years old.

Tunze Ato, Rio return pumps, MJ1200 pump, Danner 9.5 pump, vortec mp10. Looks like the pumps are in the lead.

Little fishies GFO reactor for 10+ years. I’m cheating a little because I use it as a CO2 scrubber now, but I’ve had it forever!

I have an older Cobalt I like pump and that equipment just won't die. Its gone from being an ATO pump, water reservoir mixing pump and even used as a sump pump in an extreme case. It's now retired to being a mixing pump again but still going.
