My 13yr old daughter found her white Russian hamster, Olive, dead yesterday. She taking it pretty well since it's her first pet that has died on her.

So question......

What's the one fish you had or have more emotional ties to than any other fish?

My hawkfish 100%, red and spotted both are very personable. I have a 10 year old damsel, and although he's a dick, i love him :)

My 3 blennies. Caught them August 2018 while on vacation in Galveston.
Especially my male Molly Miller blenny. Once they grew and matured I ended up with a breeding pair of Molly Miller blennies. The 3rd blenny is a feather duster blenny.
None have names and they aren’t necessarily my “favorite” fish but they are the fish with the most sentimental ties which is what you asked for. ;)

Porcupine puffer fish. Had that guy for 5 years in my fish only tank. He never inflated in that run until I saw him inflated one day ran to get the camera by the time I got back he was dead. No clue what spooked or killed him. Quite possibly a heart attack he was a fat happy guy until he went.

My wife and I are most attached to my Tiger Pistol Shrimp funny enough. My wife just loves him and gets a kick out of his non-stop work efforts to build his and his gobies home. When I got really frustrated with a bad case of Cyano and was about to scrap the tank, that shrimp and our enjoyment from him helped keep me resolved to stick it out and keep the tank running.

Awwww! Bless her heart-- losing a pet is hard. Give her all of the extra love & comfort during this time.

I used to have a Porcupine Puffer named Mr. McPuffles who was the absolute love of my life when I first started the hobby back in 2005. I had to re-home him once I moved off to college, but he was a hoot.

I now have one at work named Nugget who is just as wonderful & sweet.

I had a snowflake moray for 11 years. He squeezed through a hole in the lid that was too small for him to fit through, or so I thought. Really bummed me out.

my scooter blenny has so much personality playful like a little kid loves to rid the tank current an loves to glide off rocks like a invisible slide gets back up and goes again. almost lost him when I found him on the floor after jumping out of the tank. thankfully he survived and made a full recovery. is happier than ever and is such a cool fish.

Our porcupine puffer Gilbert was more like a dog then a fish. The whole fam loved him. Nowadays he lives at my Lfs in their big not for sale tank.

My first oscar, Gillian(RIP). He’d swim to the top, I’d put my finger in, and he’d swim right across my finger for me to pet him. Very personable, and a ton of personality
