which fish/invert, is that one big presence in your reef?
could be anything, even the smallest critter in the tank, But it just has to be the one that everybody notices.

What is your tank boss?

To me, the tank boss is the big (doesn’t have to be big) mean one that keeps everyone else in line…or just bosses them around.
And that spot goes to Luxo the homicidal clownfish. Nobody crosses her, even the angel knows it’s place.

i cant think

For me it’s a tie… for the wrasses it’s this boy. My 4” Halichoeres iridis. And for those that know my wrasse gang, this is saying something!

And my main tank boss when new introductions are in the tank… My Chelmon rostratum. Again, this is saying something as I have a Ctenochaetus binotatus in the tank which is totally docile around new fish.

Interesting to hear about the CBB. I have one as the center piece in a tank that the fish will eventually outgrow. When it does I will have to move it to my 180 gallon that houses a purple tang that is boss. I'm hoping the CBB will not be harrassed too badly

Purple Tang. He is the police officer of the tank. He won't tolerate ANY fish to fish violence. He will get right in between. If I put anything in the tank such as a scraper, my homemade shovel for moving sand around, or a net he watches every move. Gets right up on it. He won't even let me attempt to catch a fish. He will jump right in between the net and fish. He is the easiest fish to catch sacrificing himself for the other fish. He never, ever shows aggression to the other fish. His best friend is a Yellow Tang. They are thick as thieves. They have been together for 6 years now. They swim side by side hardly ever leaving each other.

The LTA is the king of the tank but the Purple Tang takes no crap from anyone. Not even me.
