Beauty is (apparently) actually quite simply in the eye of the beholder. I must philosophically ask if any life form is actually "ugly" if it is something that lives, that survives, that reproduces, etc.? Shouldn't anything that that exists, that survives, that reproduces, etc. be admired solely for its' ability have survived to this point in life's evolution?
I believe that every coral is beautiful in its own way . When you look at your tank you don’t look at a single specimen , you take the overall look ,the contrast of colors , movements ,growth patterns etc…
I have a sinularia leather coral that I thought that it’s very ugly at first but after sometime it became a show piece in my tank .
Have a blue ridge coral encrusted on a 4” round disk, maroon red bland, not fluorescent, growing up in just some spires. Ugly, but neat. Also have this pale very light tan brown finger leather that is huge in the middle of my tank.
