Hello all. Its been a bit, basically, I scratched the 20 gallon, had a hard time establishing it and when I did i got that purple algae and couldn't get it to go away... So

How would I go about removing it from my live rocks so I can introduce them to the new 55 gal tank?

When should I add corals and stuff to the new tank? I read something about adding corals right away? But I don't know if thats accurate. I didnt have corals in my last one, so i couldnt recall if it would help with the parameters or not.

I also bought an internal filter, and I have a hob skimmer rated for a 65 gallon tank. I bought pre made saltwater from my aquarium store with a salinity at 1.025.

Would putting my live sand in the pre made water before It's heated to the right temp, kill any of the good bacteria? Should I put the water and heater in first then add the sand when it's at the right temp?

I will admit, I definitely have bs-ed the first 4 or 5 tanks, but this time. I'm ready to stop wasting money and get it done right, the first one worked out until the gsp over took it. Any advice would be appreciated!! I'm basically treating this as a whole new slate.

Can we see the full tank shot?

If you mean Cyano, yup chemi clean will remove that.

But if you don’t correct the cause, it just comes back.

What are your parameters?

That’s a good starting point….

I’d add nothing until I have control over my water chemistry

Im converting the tank i have now, which is my 20 gallon, to a 55. I have all new stuff I'm putting into the 55 gal tank beside all of the live rock. The parameters are trash. So I'm maintaining it right now i had to buy new test kits because I had the API ones and they just weren't accurate like ive been told, but it's all I had at the time so now I'm improving what I have to better stuff. I haven't even put the tank together yet. I just finished getting everything I needed today for it. So I'm just asking general questions.
