Will do. Then I'll photobomb your threads instead of @ryshark's thread. ;)
Haha, I don't mind at all. I'm always willing to look at pictures of acros! I was actually thinking the same thing, how do you take such good pictures with the iPhone, now I know. Start taking them top down.

I have the larger model so my phone can fit inside it

Picture proof is always encouraged in my threads. Most ppl are quick to type what they’ve read here or on the back of a bottle or heard works but don’t have the proof/experience to back it up. Advice is worthless otherwise in my opinion.

Yes Rowaphos is basically gfo and your tank looks awesome. You obviously have the right tank conditions/bio load and technique for gfo that you’re not over stripping the water. I never said Gfo kills acros but it can if used incorrectly. I didn’t have any coral vitality when using it per the instruction so I will not use it again. That’s why my original answer was “never” to the OP.

Do you run rowaphos in a reactor? I'm getting closer to hooking something up, I can't have higher PO4 than @Chaswood79 Now I'm up to 0.19 today and my Nitrate looked to be almost 10 today, Salifert.

8/25 my PO4 was 0.14
9/5 my PO4 was 0.17
9/12 =0.19

The smart thing for me to do today would be to take the autofeeder offline. 50%+ of the food goes down the overflow anyway.

I don't have many corals, only 3-acros and a torch. That new angry bird from the other thread is definitely stressed, but that's probably unrelated. The others don't look stressed and I don't have any algae issues.

Just cut your feedings back. I have another tank with po4 at 0.65 last time I checked. 0.25 isn’t going to kill your sps. It just means you’re over feeding a bit. But freaking out and stripping the water will do some irreversible damage.

I cut the feedings increased the skimming and did a 20% water change 2-weeks ago and PO4 is still rising. I think it’s time do do something. I’ve got 3-ideas below.

8/25 my PO4 was 0.14
9/5 my PO4 was 0.17
9/12 =0.19
9/16 = 0.23

1. Get the Coral Snow Plus, this “plus” version says it reduces Phosphate somehow. They don’t say how but I’m assuming it has LC mixed in the coral snow. I like the regular Coral snow to polish the water occasionally, since I don’t use carbon. But I’ve never tried the Plus.

2. Try zeobak and/or zeostart to have beneficial bacteria remove the nutrients. However, I’d prefer to only reduce phosphate not nitrate.

3. Bust out the GFO reactor and go super slow.

Just do option 3 and use 1/3-1/2 of what they recommend for your tank, monitor the tank and effluent. Don’t over think it.

I add 10 drops of LC to bring my po4 down. Even if I liked gfo it’s such a nasty mess to deal with.

That’s actually the biggest reason I’m dragging my feet with it, it’s a little of a pain to change it out regularly. Same reason why I don’t have filter socks on this tank.
