So what do you do when your coral grows so big it reaches the surface of the water? I have a big green finger leather, it was one of my first corals. Im so proud of it, its gotten huge! I have a 40 breeder, and its about midway up in the tank, its got so big its at the surface now. Will it grow out along the surface since it has no room to grow up anymore? I would like to get a bigger tank upgrade, but thats out of the question right now. Oh and I couldnt even think about cutting it or fragging it.

Ill get a pic of it tomorrow, oh and its ok if leathers are touching? My pink finger leather dosent grow as fast as the green one, and the green one is sort of into his space now, not touching yet, but almost.

They just bend over and grow at the surface. Gorgonians do that to as they grow very quickly. They won't grow up your walls. :)

You could do a little reaquascaping and lower the rock it's attached to as well as rotate the rock so the foot is close to the sand. The finger will adjust to the new location and position pretty quickly.

I have a large finger leather that has grown to the waters surface a while back. It just lays over at the top and is perfectly fine.
I have no intention of moving it. It's very happy where it's at.

Oh wow, how long have you had it?

I'm thinking about getting one soon, but curious how fast they typically grow.

You have reached the top level of coral keeping, you maxed out, highest level, there is no more, game over. Or just get a taller tank.

also - picture or it didn’t happen.
