My son has a biocube and for the life of me I cant find a couple of 36watt light bulbs for it. Anyone able to steer me in the right direction? Was hoping to find an actinic and one around 14,000k

I did a google search for that bulb and a few showed up. A hand full of small online stores have them or try Amazon.

Gonna start looking for an LED retro kit for this tank. Not only were the bulbs a pain to find, they set me back $80 for 2 tubes.

Gotta love capitalism..
Can find "actinic" (or UV bulbs) for $10..

Can't guarantee the company but you can find them cheaper..

Hey another source:

you can take some comfort in the fact that if you bought a retrofit kit for that hood, you could have bought a lot of expensive bulbs..

I don't think those $10 "uv" lights are any different spectrally than the "actinic" coralife ones..
Hint, If you can see the light it's not UV.. ;)

no guarantee though.

Hmmm.. Could be wrong about that..
Phillips "actinic" bug light spectrum.

Never mind.. def. wrong..
phosphor should be between the 3 peaks at 400-ish and 440-ish.

Problem w/ the word..."actinic"..;)
Yea, ones a t5 the other pc but doubt if the phosphors would differ that much.

Don't rule out flea bay..

2 actinics $32..
