So the wife and I finally have a house, and I've begun looking at tanks. The problem is we're not young and neither of us are in good health - so unless I want a 20g tank we need help to move an empty tank into the house. The problem is our location. We live in Columbia, MO and are halfway between St. Louis and Kansas City along I-70. There are no clubs anywhere nearby and I don't know anyone to help.

So, have any of you hired a company or anything for this, and what have your results been?

here is the biological help, so the physical help doesn’t kill the tank:

Try moving companies that service your area.

I'll second the moving companies, it's what I did for my water box peninsula. Found one that insured it as well.

If you buy a new tank from a fish store, ask them.
If it's a big one they should be able to help or find some help.

Fortunately it'll be a brand new tank, so biological isn't as important as someone to get it into the door :D

Most local fish stores will do this for you as well. Especially if you purchase the tank from them. I know of at least 3 in my area that do setup service.

Not really an option here. We have one LFS that isn't Pet Smart, and they're just not all that trustworthy (from my experience with other animals).

Thanks though :)

I suspect that's what I'm going to have to do. We used "Two Men and a Truck" to move our furniture and they did a great job. If they can get more than 2 guys there at a time. Guess I'll give 'em a call when I get the $$ to order a tank :D

Thanks!
