Check out School of Fish llc. Really healthy livestock and sound shipping. Pricey but I’ve gotten only quality stuff. NYAquatic has great prices. No intense QT procedure like school of fish but I’ve scored some great deals. I’ve never had an issue with disease but I know the fish are not in the store long. Violet aquarium is another I have been happy with. Good reviews but prices have skyrocketed. All three are pretty good with communication, texting, email, etc. I only now place orders with people I can either text or call and ask question and request pics / videos.
Other than quality, price is a big consideration for me since all of my tanks are sort of budget. Will take a look at their selection though!

I create very specific, hard-locked stocklists for my tanks, so that I cannot be persuaded into buying what I can't keep. Therefore soon I will have to begin partially relying on online sellers. What online fish stores do you have good experiences with?
I currently have my eye on Live Aquaria, Vivid Aquariums, Barrier Reef Aquariums, top shelf aquatics, and Saltwater Fish.com

Which of these are reliable if any? What other stores would you recommend?
I like reef beauties, violet aquarium, saltwaterfish.com and reef pro store (they have less of a selection but good place to check for specific fish like angels and tangs

Reef Beauties is great. Violet Aquarium has a nice selection of WYSIWYG, I am considering them for my next purchase.
I got Nebula (zebra eel) and Loki (white eye eel) from them and they are very healthy. Loki ate right away after being acclimated which isnt the norm for a new eel!

Reef Beauties is who i have been using lately and highly suggest them to everyone in my local reef group and on my coral page to customers and friends and no one has been disappointed!
I do NOT recommend Reef Beauties. They do NOT stand by their warranty. Dr Reef is good.

If you're getting anything that's aquacultured, I would imagine ORA is good because if you buy from them direct the fish should never touch a community tank with non-aquacultured fish, so about as unlikely to carry disease as any fish can be without a good quarantine procedure.

If you buy ORA fish from a local store, most likely they have been put in water that is shared with other non-aquacultured fish.

I like TankStop and SaltwaterFish. Good selection, reasonable prices and well shipped. DrReef is great to deal with but I just had too many DOA's. Maybe it was just my bad luck. He is very honest and will cover any losses. It does often take 4-8 weeks after ordering to receive the shipment even for non-quarantined fish. NY Aquatic is good for rarer fish but I have had two shipments delayed an extra day by FedEx from NY coming west that resulted in one DOA. They did cover the loss.
Similar experience with Dr Reef. The customer service is great, but I've had too many heart-breaking losses. I'm going assume the further the fish travels, the more concerned I should be. I've had great luck with Seahorse Savvy, and my LFS can order pretty much anything I want.

I've made several purchases through them and never had a problem, always answered any questions very quickly and every fish I have from them came in absolutely perfect. A quick google search show their track record is much better than dr reef!

How does the Google search prove they have a better track record? look at the amount of people supporting Dr reef on this thread

NY Aquatic sent me a fish that was tiny and emaciated and on its way out when I opened the box. I couldnt believe theyd send me a fish this emaciated that obviously hadnt been eating. They didn't count this as DOA even though it was already on its side and gasping before I took it out. I gave it a chance and it died in hours.

The other fish in the box was okay, but never ate frozen food as they guarantee on their site.

After sending video and pics they only gave me store credit. Now I have to pay for shipping all over again. I don't understand that logic of not counting the fish as DOA. Honestly, I should've just let it die then took the pic.

Buyer beware.

Ive never had them not stand by their warranty, Ive used them for about 2 years now. Ive lost 2 of the fish Ive gotten (Ive ordered a lot) and they always stood by it. Not they have fish tagged as “expert” and those are only with a DOA warranty.

Tank stop is by far the best quality I’ve gotten on line. Eric is very responsive and experienced as well. Prices fair.

Biota and Poma labs for captive bred fish.

NYAquatic has been hit or miss. Last purchase was captive bred interruptus which was very healthy. I still buy from them as they do make it right when things go wrong and pricing is competitive.Would suggest examining fish carefully and to quarantine everything.
