Hey guys,

Can anyone point me in the direction of a distributor or retailer that can track down one of these beauts?

Also, Potter’s Wrasses as well.

Thanks!

You may have to wait awhile. Hawaii placed a ban on permits for collecting ornamental fish using nets with gaps of less than 2". This isn't a problem for collecting tangs and other deeper bodied fish, but makes catching wrasses more difficult.

Can't say I've ever seen A. chrysocephalus for sale (haven't paid particular attention either). Have definitely seen them diving on both Maui and Hawai'i Island though.

Females had been regularly available. Males were more sporadic, but still came in. Collected males are difficult though, often pacing along the glass and wasting away after a few months. Females fare better.

A recently had a female transition into male in my own tank. I'm hoping that it does better than one that was collected and transported as males.
