Just a few tips to help newbies. 1st off, do your own research so you have your own information as reference before asking questions. Start out in the wild, research the activity in the wild of the species you are interesting in. Things you will find out; juveniles may hang out in groups, but as adults they become territorial. Check liveaquaria for recommended tank sizes, they really are right on in most cases. Maximum size is not the common size, and the common size is not the captive size; there are exceptions, as an example, the niger trigger will reach their full wild size. When you are searching forums for information of keeping certain species from other hobbyist, take note of the following; what size tank, what size was the fish introduced, what size are they now and how long have they been in the tank. Juvi species and new additions are much different than a mature individual, and as time goes their disposition changes. Take note of the lifespan in the wild and take note of how long people are keeping them in captivity, before you take the advice. Search here for related information before throwing out questions; for instance, if you have questions on predatory fish, lionfish, etc. Click on my name and "find all threads", and you will find tons of info.
