Reef octo for sure. I have ran others including nyos but now run 3 different reef octo. 1 is 300 external, 2 is 250sss, and 150 ss. all work great

I have a Rossmont SX250 on my current tank. Great skimmer. AC pump reliability with complete control (if you buy a Waver). You can even schedule it to turn down/off to align with dosing certain things or feeding so it doesn’t go nuts. It isn’t as quiet as some DC options, but it has been an absolute beast. I run it on the Waver with my Rossmont RX1400 return pump which is also controllable AC.

I've only used skimmers from reef octopus and vertex, and of the two I prefer the vertex. I'd imagine the Royal Exclusiv would probably be my favorite if I weren't too cheap to get one.

Since Vertex went under and I don't want to have to sell a kidney to buy a Royal Exclusiv, if I were going to buy a new protein skimmer today I'd probably go with Reef Octopus.

Another for Reef Octo. I only use HOB and it is so much better than my Aquamaxx HOB skimmer.

Count me in for Reef Octo. Never had any issues with them and they are work horses!

Loving Reef Octo but I have had good results with Aquamaxx, and Tunze too.

I really like how you adjust my s130 with a dial with numbers so I know where my setting is.

I have run many over some 20 years of reefing. Hanner (air stone driven), SeaClone, Euroreef, Deltec, Volcano by Spazz, Bubble King, ReefOctopus, CPR hang on and Currently ATB which is my favorite and current skimmer which I have been running for a number of years now. Extremely quiet, very efficient and have never had and issue with any part. They were more popular years back but rarely heard of anymore.
