I'm prepping to get a new round of bulbs. Right now I only run 6 blue+ and 2 Coral+. I like the blue look if you can tell. I would like to tie a True Actinic this time. Would you say 1 is enough or would you go 2. I don't want to sacrifice to much par from what I'm generating now.

Corals need some of the spectrum that the True Actinic produces. I would try two of them in place of the Blue+. If it's still too white swap out a Coral+ for a Blue+.

I can't get the exclamation point to come off my unit does anyone know how ? I've tried shutting off the unit. It was overheating because canopy fans were turned off by mistake. Sorry for posting this on this thread.

This is one of ATI bulbs combinations, I think it's the best and if you add some LEDs, you'll have the best light

The exclamation point will remain as long as the fixture is too hot. Simply turning it off will not remove the overheating unless you do it long enough for the fixture to physically cool down. ATI does not recommend the use of our fixtures in a canopy, if you choose to do so be sure you have lots of air circulation near the fans as well as be sure the vent end (opposite the cord) is not at all obstructed and you have no less than 4-6" of space between it and the canopy. Restricting the vent will almost always result in an overheated fixture. Should you have further questions please email us at customercare@atinorthamerica.com

Sorry Ali, I am not sure I understand your question? If it is in reference to the videos, we very much appreciate those videos that is why we put them in our first post of this thread.

I didn't notice those videos, I searched last night and found these, they are the same,
I just wanted to know your opinion about using just bulbs or a combination of bulbs and LEDs or metal.
As far as I know, it's the best to use them both.
And I think the 7th combination in second movie, is the best.
    What do you think?

Tank color is very much a matter of personal preference. There really is no "right answer" because everyone's opinion on what it should look like is different. Your best bet is to find a tank (in person) you appreciate the color of and choose the same combination. Or simply purchase some extra lamps and adjust them until you find the right combination for your taste.

I stopped using the true actinic when one of ati lead guys came on RC and said the blue+ is a better bulb for corals in regards to PAR, PUR, and spectrum.

I have been trying to make a decision about bulbs for the last week. I bought a 2 bulb HOt5 fixture to supplement my Kessil 360we. These videos really helped. I am going to try the true actinic and the purple plus.

I'll buy 2 purple plus, 2 blue plus and 1 coral plus and a good heatsink and 2 cooling fans.
Also I'll use my LEDs too.

Dromonk, you may find this helpful:
Here's a some of our customer's favorite combinations. We have found most folks prefer a bluer look to their tank as it helps to bring our more colors in their corals. Please remember that bulb choice is ultimately a matter of personal preference and what works for one, may not work for another.

    Hi
What is the best tank height for ATI bulbs?
My tank is 47"*27"*20" (W,H,L), I've bought 3 blue plus, 2 coral plus and 1 purple plus.
I like natural colors, something like No. 7 in second ATI combination film.
    And you said:
    Probably around 6-12".
So my question is ATI bulbs is good for at most 12" ???
My height is 27", and now what should I do???

Sorry Ali I was not clear with my answer. You stated your tank was 80cm tall, thats actually 31.5". With sufficient number of lamps this is no problem for T5 lamps. The 6-12" was in reference to the distance above the tank to mount the light.

    Your setup sounds just fine.

There is a lot more to keeping SPS than just lights!
