Hey all-

Just purchased a 45 gal. frag tank: 48" x 18" x 12" (tall) . I plan on growing mostly LPS and soft coral, but some SPS in the future as well.

I was thinking about going with the 36" 4-bulb fixture. (1x blue+, 2 actinic, 1 purple ATI bulbs) . I would like some areas of lower light in the tank for certain chalices and low-light lps, so I think the 36" would achieve that and also give me plenty of spread. I think 6 bulbs would be too much light, but I am willing to have my mind changed.

advice/recommendations appreciated.

Thanks all!

Four is fine. Basically about 160ar per tube at 12in from the light. You can move the lamp closer if you need to.

Thanks for the reply :) I think so too.. I'll eventually be supplementing with a reefbrite strip as well.
