All my fish now have this disease. It was first seen on my clowns but a day later I saw it on my firefish. If anyone could help me ID this disease I would appreciate it.

they are eating just fine but I did see my firefish on the floor earlier and breathing hard. He is swimming fine now.

Lymphocystis. This is viral and associated with poor water quality, poor diet or both. Infection appears on the infected fish as one or more white or beige colored pebble or wart-like nodules most commonly seen on the fins, skin, or gills, although other tissues may be affected. It is usually found in the fish skin and fins. After residing on its host for 4 weeks or more, the Lymphocystis cells rupture or fall off the host, spreading the infected cells in the water. The cells then either sink to the bottom of the tank and lie dormant or reattach to another host via a break in the skin or fins, or in the gills.
It also appears that secondary infection is kicking in hence the tail rot on the firefish. Although there is no formal treatment, Ruby Rally pro will be of some help. A freshwater dip may offer some temporary relief to the fish also.
Assure your ammonia-nitrate-ph-salinity and temp are within norms and not elevated.
If youre using API test kits, you may be getting false reading which they are notorious for.

Add selcon vitamins and garlic extract to the foods for stamina and immunity health.

The only API I use is for ammonia. My nitrate and PH are salifert and my salinity and temp are Hanna. They are all in the normal range. Thanks for the info.

one of my clowns has his eyes closed which is also apart of this disease so I think you are 100 percent correct.

API ammonia mainly is notorious for false readings and have disappointed many reefers. I would suggest to take a water sample to a trusted LFS that does Not use API kits and see what reading they come up with and for comparison.

Ok I’ll be sure to do that this week. Two more questions can this affect coral or inverts and does ammonia affect coral?
