Wont affect this. You can also use a Dental pick very carefully to lift and attempt SLOW peel
I think it's mucus secreted by the coral maybe not caused by bacterial infection though, I googled a bunch of lps infections, couldn't find a match. What would peeling it do? It just secreted more after I sucked it out.

If secreting, may be infected tissue I just looked back at pics, can you repost them under brighter white intensity Or video of this secretion?

I'll try to get a video for you, but that was my lights at 100% white.
Here's a good white light Pic, it has definitely moved/reformed any ideas?
Favia also looks irritated.

So I think it's a bacterial infection. I didn't post pictures of the cup because it won't be useful it just looks like a translucent white substance. It seems to be coming from inbetween the polyps of the coral, should I worry about it spreading to my other corals?

Just wanted to throw in my observations as well as pics of what it normally looks like to compare it to.
Normal:

When I came home, notice the cleared gaps circled in blue. My thought here is that the coral was clearing it out of these gaps, I sucked that mucus out with a turkey baster it was completely clear.

Came home after getting water, about 1 and 30minutes from the last Pic. Notice the gaps filled back up with the white substance?

Hopefully this helped, thank you for helping

Much better pics. I dont see this as sponge or secretion but expelling of waste or filament which seems to be dislodging. Try GENTLE bursts with a turkey baster and see if it dislodges
