I woke up this morning and noticed some white slime in the sump. It has since mostly dissipated. Unfortunately I also found my clownfish on the floor. :-( I did not know that a clownfish could jump out. I'm curious if these 2 things are just coincidence or related? I only run a skimmer and dose all for reef.

I would say they are not related.

Any, and all fish can, and will jump at some point. You really need a top on a tank to avoid that problem.

If I had to guess without a picture of the slime, would be a bacterial bloom of some sort. Carbon dosing at all?

I don't know what the slime is, but I doubt the two are related. Clowns will jump, like pretty much every other species. I have lost a couple of clowns over the years to the same thing unfortunately.

I think it might be a bacterial film in the sump. but we need more info like photos, parameters etc...

Unfortunately or fortunately the slime went away. I think my skimmer got rid of it. I'm not carbon dosing. Being a procrastinator cost me my clown. I actually bought a lid for the wrasse that I currently have in QT. Just haven't put it together yet. I read about slime in tanks killing fish so thought I'd ask. I don't see any in the actual tank so I guess I won't worry about it for now.

Sorry for your loss.
Most fish jump when being chased.
Otherwise they prefer staying in the water.
