White Sponges ... Are these the toxic ones????

These spider web type of sponges grow best in the shadows it seems. It came on a rock I got a toadstool on around 4 months ago and I had it mixed amongst my reef. After it seemed to be growing too quickly for my comfort, I moved it to the corner so it can't spread. The question is:

Is this a good sponge??? Or one of them that steals nutrients and adds toxicity to my water???

I dont think it will harm your tank.
If you dont like it or it is growing to fast remove it.

What is this white stuff on my live rock

I have several patches of white that seems to be growing in my tank. Some look like "slime" and other areas look like white cotton balls. What is this and is it harmful? The patch on this first image covers several inches. The others are smaller
