I noticed a relatively large white spot on the dorsal fin of my soaps tang. It looks much larger than the pics I see of ich. It doesn’t appear to have a fuzzy or dull texture. I took several pics. Sorry about the blue light. I can try again under white, if needed. He’s quite camera shy.

Here’s a white light pic. It’s almost see-thru on that spot. Maybe he got bitten?

Still hard to tell it could just be a cut or scrape from running scared.

I would watch it but definitely give it good food and let it heal itself, as long as it's eating most fish can fight of little things.

Sorry that's what can contribute

Well, it isn't any of the serious infectious diseases. I would say it is just a minor injury or a rub mark. It is on a fin, so no organs will be involved. The only odd thing is that it shows on both sides of the fish. It isn't in with another tang is it? A scalpel swipe from a tang can puncture a fin like that.

It is in with a powder blue that is quite the diva. This morning it’s more of a dark grey, barely noticeable, and only on 1 side. Thanks for the input.

Not parasitical but another observation made is the fish is somewhat thin and there is an array of both green hair algae and lyngbya on the glass suggesting water quality issues.
What is your ammonia-nitrate-phosphate readings and how are you testing ?
Are you using RODI water or tap water from faucet ?

Diet suggestions:
LRS herbivore diet
Formula 2 flake and frozen
TDO Pellets
small plankton
Hikari Marine cuisine
Ocean nutrition veggie diet
spirulina brine shrimp
mysis shrimp
Prime reef
Nori seaweed basted with garlic extract

Add selcon vitamins to foods occasionally

Yes, my tank is not a pristine, picturesque, algae-free scene. I doubt it ever will be, but we’re only about 4 months in from adding the 1st fish, only time will tell.
The nitrates and phosphates are higher than most people would advise. I use Nyos for nitrate, usually around the 25 color. Hanna for phosphate, about 0.7.
I actually feed several of the items you posted. I made the BRS DIY reef chili. It’s incredibly easy to overfeed with it. The only thing I would change is the freeze dried shrimp. I’d either pulse them or omit them. None of my fish can eat a whole shrimp, and, irritatingly, they float.
