I didn't even know this forum existed :)

My steel stands have been rusting away on me, so I am making the switch to T-slot with Framing Tech. Super beefy but not cheap. Just built it this morning. (Yes, it is upside down). Still waiting on the 10' acrylic frag tank to ship.

The fasteners are "thick zinc coated". @Shooter6 does that tell you anything? I'd appreciate your considered thoughts. I mean, I am already committed (obviously) but should I be investigating any other treatments?

Looking for someone to build a custom stand that’s not going to be a standard box with holes in it. It would be cool to see some different finishes, layouts with sumps, and materials. Please post some pics of your setups!

The stand for my 135 build was built by a local cabinet shop that supplies my LFS...

Came unfinished, so I had to do all of the finish myself.

Very nice I just finished mine been working on it for the last 2 days
Seems daunting until you see the extremely over priced stands available on the market.. then building your own doesn’t seem so bad

Very nice
Thank you. Was a few weekends of work, but I am happy with the finial product.

One key when using a wood stand like this.. Make ABSOLUTELY sure that you seal EVERY single corner, joint, exposed nail head.. EVERYTHING!!! Water will find its way into ANY opening and begin to deteriorate the stand from the inside out.

I used a full tube and a half of caulking to seal this stand, plus 4 coats of primer and 4 coats of final color.

Steel welded stand with automotive top coat.
2x3 top and the rest is 2x2.
All 1/4".
Mine is an open design with no doors.

Everytime I see this, I froth at the mouth at the thought of getting back into welding and making my own. Did you use mig or flux core? It came out great.
