So, who doses ammonia?

I do. In large amounts in my macro grow out and in small amounts throughout the day in my reef tanks.

But in all seriousness.

Ammonia is a very easy to digest source of N for macros and corals.

The tank getting ammonia straight dumped into was part of an 800 or so gallon grow out. It is now part of a slightly smaller system with fish and nems.

Ammonia is still dosed throughout the day and ever since dosing, the macros, nems and other corals have been growing like mad.

Shrooms do well, I guess. As you know, I just really got into them not to long ago. I am up to about 80 or so in the tank. And not blue discos lol. Have not lost one yet and they keep popping babies, so I take that as a good thing.

It does need to be noted, nuisance algae likes the ammonia also. So until plugs get some coralline on them, they will need to be cleaned. My snails are lazy and dumb. Once on the rack, they fall over or off it lol.
