Who has bio pellet reactor by Reef Otopus?

I have his reactor and am confused about setting it up. Should I glue these two pieces together or slide the adaptor in without glue?

I didn't glue mine, it fit snug and no leaks. I keep it in the smp though just in case

I have to place it outside the sump. Anyone knows if it needs glue?
