No, someone in the club has a 500 gallon. He was working on getting everything set up in the beginning of the year. He was at a lot of the meetings at first but, I haven't seen him in a while...

Remember that mass market tanks pretty much top out at 265/300; anything beyond that and you're talking a significant premium for custom. I'd love to go up to about 400 from my current 265 but am unable to satisfy myself that my floor, as currently constituted, would take the load.

I have a 550g setup and going. will be about 800g total system once I get the frag tank under the DT built. Right now the DT is 550g, fuge/ats is 10g (in a 20t tank, 40g cryptics, and 75g sump.

tank dimensions are 7' long x 3' wide, and 42" tall

Sorry Munchie, summer is boating season, I hope to get to some meetings soon.

Thats a bad excuse. I call BS your a smarter dude than that!! There definitely another reason...

Next time you have a family party, like thanksgiving, gather about 5 guys that weigh 200 lbs to cover the extra 1,000 lbs your worried about. have them all stand next to the tank within the footprint of the expected tank. That little extra weight will not even be as well distributed as the new tank!

Of course there are other reasons, WAF, laziness, not wanting to mess with a good thing, but weight IS one of them ....

I'll come over and stand next to your tank for you. Aside from the 2 of us, find 3 more guys to stand with us. Then we'll know if weight is an issue!
