I am thinking of a tank with Bioluminescent algae together with Macroalgae and some (toxic green) candy cane. At the moment I couldn't figure out how to do the water circulation/filtering.

Love both my waterbox and my Red Sea But both are small tanks. My hubby wants to put in brand new wood floors and asked I could move my tank to our rec room as it has caused damage to our current flooring. I told him I would have to upgrade. Thinking of a cade

I started with a BioCube 29 and after about 6-7 years went with the Red Sea 650P that I’ve had for the last 4 years. I like it very much but at the same time I’m considering downsizing to an AIO for the simplicity of it. A larger tank requires more maintenance (time) even with automation. A consideration also is the cost of upkeep (salt and other regular use items). My nearest store that keeps some supplies and livestock and is on the smaller side and is 3 hours away, but provides valuable help when needed. The larger stores are at least 6 hours away. There are many who are continually looking ahead to the next larger tank. While there’s nothing wrong with that, there’s something to be said for the smaller tanks. It’s gotten me thinking again!

I voted yes, because I know my tangs will outgrow my current tank and I need a larger one for them in the future. Going to get a Waterbox, I have one right now and I love it.

Just going to be a large mixed reef. Will set up auto-water changes and other fun stuff.
How are you going to set up an auto water changer?

1. For your next "aqua project" what aquarium will you go with and why? I am going with DIY for my new display so I will be the builder. Simply put I enjoy the challenge of the build and the pride in saying I built that. On the other side of it I would not want to know what I would be charged for someone to build my fish room or future display.

2. Share a brief summary about what you're dreaming up for your next tank project?
Is it an upgrade, frag tank, an additional tank, a species type tank or what?

I am upgrading in my new home with a new build. It will be a multi, tank system with a dedicated fish room and divided display with 1/3 dedicated to non-reef safe fish and 2/3 dedicated to a full coral reef. I will have a frag tank, mantis, tank, display refugium, and maybe some additional tanks for other specialty animals that need to be housed alone.

Honestly, I think I need help... Is there a Reefers Anonymous club I can join? I pulled the trigger today on a new BioCube 32. I already have a 55 running, and a 180 that I haven't gotten running yet (I have boxes of stuff all over my living room) and today I bought a new tank. Help Me!! I can't stop myself.. lol

Just upgraded to a 130.4 Waterbox and I love it. It will be quite a while before upgrading again. Came from a 32 gallon Biocube that was a great beginner tank.

For tanks under 70 gallons I love ADA, Landen, IM, and Aquamaxx rimless glass! Anything bigger and I will only use Acrylic tanks. Watched too many glass tanks leak and split above that size over the years. Plus I hated moving glass tanks one small bump and you chip an edge or cracked a tank. The weight and clumsiness of large glass tanks makes it difficult to handle when delivering and installing. I could deliver tanks up to 240 gallons by myself back in the days my company manufactured them!

Very happy with our Miracles tank. We are on our second custom in-wall from Miracles. Great product and support door to door.

The YNAB 34-day budget reset has prevented me from buying 6 urchin, 4 fish, and some coral... so there's that lol

I like our local guys at Reynolds Polymer because not only do they build projects for Sea World and monster tanks around the world, they also build tanks for guys like me. I’m afraid to ask, isn’t it racist to say a tank must be a box or rectangle. After all if climate change is racist then we must not discriminate against cylinder tanks.
